A cautionary note re the above info. Regarding the Slavic people. I believe the labs were not simply intent on killing them. There is reason to believe Slavic people like the Irish may have special genes that REPEL conventional viruses. Keep in mind they are always interested not so much in killing people with gene therapy/viruses but in reengineering the genome to BUILD A SUPERSOLDIER ARMY… this is more likely what they were doing.
Keep in mind, in any of these labs they can be working on many things. It is important to know the real plan behind their actions rather than the most obvious one.
They will very likely take the research and move it underground or to the U.S. and Russia.
