After posting my recent update on youtube about the state of finances I realized it may help to remind everyone of our plans to become more self sufficient.
My plan is to launch our live tv shows (along with various hosts already on my channel) via our own player on our own servers. We are working on this. We will rely on advertising on the shows/player to make income to support us going forward. For example the ads on youtube do bring in enough money to pay my monthly rent (but no more). Food, bills and living costs beyond that as well as money to travel and do speaking engagements and interviews I need to raise in other ways.
One reason for building our channel on our own servers is to make more money from ads than youtube allows (they take 45% of all ad revenue).
We will offer subscriptions as well adding various incentives eventually. But we need to keep most if not all of our content free for viewing as much as possible for two reasons:
1. To remain competitive on youtube with all the other content out there.
2. To make sure that the world can access our work regardless of their individual financial situations. We do not want to exclude people due to their lack of money from the truth.
